Rotes MeerThis glorious species is only found in the Red Sea. It occurs over algae-rubble slopes, usually along reef-margins, to a depth of about 25m. Juveniles swim in small groups close to the seabed and often shelter amongst large soft-coral colonies. Females may swim higher above the substrate in pursuit of zooplankton and a single male is usually in close vicinity. Easily identified by the short rounded head and colouration. Length to about 9cm.
