Job description

FULL-TIME - Chorleywood – Hertfordshire

Aquarists are critical to the daily operations of our Livestock business. We are looking for a passionate coral reef keeper, to work alongside a very busy team in our modern marine livestock holding facilities. An interest in fragging would be advantageous and general duties include assisting with tank maintenance, feeding, handling livestock, and dealing with customers in the Fish-House. The role also involves unpacking and acclimating livestock shipments in our quarantine room.

Full-time working hours are 42.5 hours per week and due to the nature of dealing with Livestock flexibility in hours is essential and evening and weekend work is required on a rolling shift rota. The successful candidate should have an interest in aquatics or animal care, and be enthusiastic, hard-working with attention to detail, and eager to learn all aspects of marine livestock husbandry. Full training is provided.

Key responsibilities include:

· Coral fragging

· Livestock acclimation

· Hands on maintenance of the fish-house systems

· Feeding livestock and fish welfare

· Tank cleaning

· Picking and packing of livestock in a timely manner, for sales deliveries and calling customers

· Supporting calling customers

· Fish-house housekeeping duties

Key skills required include:

· Willingness to get involved, take ownership, and work on your own initiative is important.

· Hands on approach to tasks and situations

· Flexibility to adapt to sudden changes

· Work to deadlines and support critical pinch points, so that our livestock welfare standards are maintained.

· Positive ‘can do’ attitude and attention to detail

· Good interpersonal & communication skills

· Aquatic experience and product knowledge (advantageous)

· Flexibility and enthusiasm essential

 

Hours of Work: Fish-house shifts will include early starts and late finishes including weekend support on a rota basis. We can accommodate an immediate start.

Salary: £21,000.00-£23,800.00 per year

Job description

As an Administrative Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting our continuous improvement efforts. Your responsibilities will span various administrative tasks, data analysis, and project coordination. Your attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and commitment to excellence will contribute to our success.

Responsibilities

  • Livestock Administration:
    • Collate livestock purchasing records for data analysis & reporting UK & Portugal
    • Support with the CITES application process and ensuring compliance with regulation.
    • Handle administrative tasks related to livestock processes. This includes record-keeping, data entry, coordinating with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyse data related to livestock, and special projects that supports continuous improvement.
    • Prepare monthly fish stock reports.
    • Utilise Excel for data visualisation and trend analysis
    • Handle internal ad hock projects / tasks.
  • General Site Support:
    • Provide administrative support as required.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide holiday support
    • Support in a range of compliance reports

 

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication abilities (verbal and written).
  • Passion for Livestock and sustainable sourcing.

THIS IS A SITE-BASED ROLE

Hours of Work: 9.30am-2.30pm Monday to Friday (25hrs per week)

WAREHOUSE & LOGISTICS ASSISTANT
Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit for a new dual role in our warehouse/logistics department that will be key to the flexibility that we need to run the department.  We are looking for a highly motivated individual, to join our team that wants variation in their daily workload and to take on a hands-on responsibility approach. The ideal candidate would exhibit strong experience in delivering a good service to both our internal and external customers. We are a Marine Livestock business and as such time is critical to our shipments, as is the quality and care of our goods in transit. This individual will be based at our Chorleywood site and cover both areas in the warehouse and logistic area. Ideal Candidates would have good experience in customer service skills, warehousing and van driving experience.

 

Brief Job Description

A key part of the role is the weekly collection and delivery of our marine animals and dry goods from Heathrow airport to our head office in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire. You could be dealing with all aspects of collections from the airport and in particular deliveries to our customers on our assigned courier runs. You will also be working with the team in our warehouse and cash & carry areas throughout the week.

Key responsibilities include:

• Airport deliveries and collections of livestock, including dealing with necessary paperwork.

• warehouse duties including picking, packing and stock-take support

• Inter-site deliveries and collections

• Local / non-local customer and supplier deliveries and collections

• Operation of our Counterbalance Forklift Trucks

• Demands of the role and livestock business may require the successful candidate to be flexible with start and finish times.

 

Key skills required include:

• Willingness to get involved, take ownership, and work on your own initiative is very important. 

• Hands on approach to tasks and situations

• Flexibility to adapt to sudden changes

• Work to deadlines and manage critical pinch points, so that our livestock arrives as quickly as possible

• Positive ‘can do’ attitude 

• Excellent customer service

• Building good relationships with team members and customers

• Full driving Licence (essential)

• Aquatic experience and product knowledge (advantageous)

• FLT – Counterbalance (advantageous)
