Huge Success for AquaRay and Biolumen Lighting
Dec . 07 / 2021

For around 14 years Tropical Marine Centre, and in particular the Biosystems team, has worked with the Coral Reef Lab at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) in Southampton. At the beginning of the relationship there were doubts surrounding the effectiveness of LED for lighting reef aquaria. 3 years later we were proud to be switching their reception display tank to AquaRay LEDs! Since then the display has thrived, providing visitors with a stunning reference to the important coral research being carried out there.

11 years on, the lighting array is still working beautifully; however LED technology has evolved rapidly in that time, becoming even more efficient and reliable. Control systems have also become more sophisticated and powerful; providing precise, reliable control of all critical lighting variables. In light of these advances, the decision was recently made to upgrade the fixtures and control system.

We are proud and delighted that NOC have once again opted for our exclusive lighting technology, and we’re looking forward to seeing the results of the new installation in the coming months and years.
