Pacifico occidentaleWidespread Indo-West, ranging to subtropical waters. Occurs in estuaries, coastal bays and lagoons with seagrasses, as well as on reef crests with rich soft coral growth. Juveniles secretive in seagrasses or attached to Sargassum. Adults usually in small loose aggregations, but occasionally they form large schools to spawn. Variable, green to yellow or brown. Red Sea males have black tails. Length to 50cm.
