Tonozukai's Fairywrasse

Eastern Sulawesi, Lembeh Strait to the Banggai Islands and Palau. It occurs on open, hard bottom substrates with algae and sparse coral growth, usually in strong current zones. Juveniles and females similar to several other species and identification depends on the presence of a male that has a long dorsal filament and red anal fin, with the latter looking black in natural light. Length to 75mm.
